Hey there, everyone! I've started this topic because I have a request regarding A Certain Magical Virtual-On that I've finally worked up the courage to talk to you guys about. It's a longshot, but I thought I'd throw this out there anyway.
Remember how I told you guys about the extra stuff in the Japanese Dreamcast version of VOOT (the field/model viewers, etc., and how to access them in Demul and NullDC)? Well, since I did all that for you, do you think maybe you guys could possibly make an effort to somehow translate as much of the Japanese text menu options throughout the game as possible? Perhaps even a bit of the dialogue text as well(when characters are talking)? Or am I asking too much? I'm not asking for a complete word-for-word translation of the entire game, I just want a guide, at least, that will help make this game more enjoyable. I'm asking this not just for me, but also for everyone else who's having an almost-impossible time trying to figure out all the Japanese text in the game, otherwise you can't really enjoy the game to the fullest. Know what I mean?
Again, I do realize this is quite a longshot, but I just thought I throw this request out there anyway.

Unfortunately, almost no one is still playing this game. There are only 1 or 2 active western players, and I can't speak Japanese well enough to translate beyond guessing. As for dialogue text, there is a ton of it, I think that would be impossible.

Dang... Well then, in that case, can someone please direct me to the "Arcade mode" that is supposed to be in the game? Because there definitely should be an option for that somewhere, but I simply can't find it anywhere.Porcupine wrote:Unfortunately, almost no one is still playing this game. There's no Arcade mode in this game. IMO the equivalent is the story mode which takes days unless you skip all the dialogue. Note that story mode forces you to use all VR except Bal-Bados, so it's kind of like Arcade mode with every VR, which is part of the reason it takes so long.
One of the missions in mission mode is also called Arcade mode. It's the third one from the top. However, there is not much Arcadey about it, it's just a set of 3, 5, or 7 random regular battles, depending on what difficulty you play it under.
You must beat every mission on every difficulty as part of unlocking all trophies, however you only need to do this with one VR. You do need to use every VR in mission mode a fair bit to unlock other trophies. But you don't need to beat every mission on every difficulty with every VR, which is what I and a few other japanese players mistakenly thought. You can tell who we fools are because we have a high level on the leaderboard. Level is primarily influenced by how many missions you do, Rank is primarily influenced by how many ranked battles you play, assuming you have enough skill to keep advancing.

No Arcade mode either!? I think that's borderlining on false advertising on Sega's part! Well, so much for that bright idea.Porcupine wrote:There's no Arcade mode in this game.
